                               OBJECTIVE

Provide interactive computer system design and development leadership to deliver
complex capabilities through intuitive, human factored applications based on
open standards.  I would like to work in a multidisciplinary team where  my
unique technical, interpersonal, and interaction design skills can help capture
new business and deliver customer driven systems to meet their operational
needs.  Also a desire to work in an organization that actively encourages
professional growth, non-traditional thinking, and contributes to the defense of
our nation.

Senior Systems Engineer with a technical, operational, and business mindset
combined with recognized interpersonal  and communication skills.   Over 15
years of experience in research, design, development, interaction design, and
business development of interactive computer systems for commercial,
intelligence, and defense domains including signal processing, communications,

SRA International, Fairfax, Virginia, 2007 - Present
Systems Architect
Systems Architect in the Intelligence & Space Division developing the 
architecture for various customers.   

  - Senior team member developing a two year architecture and plan for 
    an enterprise IT environment.

  - Developing and documenting architecture artifacts in Telelogic's 
    System Architect.


Argon ST, Fairfax, Virginia, 2001 - 2007
Senior Systems Engineer
Senior Systems Engineer in the Advance Technology Group leading the design,
development, and delivery of interactive systems for the defense and
intelligence communities.  Pioneered the adoption of Interaction Design
techniques and lead software teams to deliver complex functionality in
intuitive, easy to use systems through software and physical design.

  - Lead the Interaction Design and software user interface for a next
    generation, Network Centric laser range finding and designating weapon
    system built on open and government standards.

  - Designed a new interactive Tasking model and implemented the user interface
    for a small form factor, Network Centric COMINT system.

  - Designed, planned, and lead the execution of an entire development
    environment for the Advance Technology Group.

  - Lead the Technical Solutions and Product Integration teams in successfully
    achieving CMMI Level 3 certification for Argon ST.

  - Participated in business development, customer interaction, and proposal
    development for programs.


Bit Twiddlers, Manassas, Virginia, 1999 - Present
Director
Founding member of Bit Twiddlers, a computer consulting firm, specializing in
standards based, open-source software solutions.  Involved with the design,
implementation, testing and distribution of database-backed Internet sites and
networked multimedia systems.

  - Developed an e-commerce site for searching, compiling and downloading
    dynamically created audio content.

  - Designed and implemented several database backed Internet sites using Java,
    Perl, and open-source databases.

  - Designed and implemented a networked multimedia system for the Ronald Reagan
    Building and International Trade Center in Washington, DC.


e-know, Herndon, Virginia, 2000 - 2001              
Software Engineer
Core member of the software team developing an enterprise-scale business task
management software system.  Lead the design and implementation of the user
interface and customer interaction of the system.

  - Developed a browser based GUI using Java Servlet Pages and CORBA
    communications to the business execution engine.

  - Contributed to various components of the core business execution engine and
    administration tasks.

  - Key member in developing system and software requirements, use cases, and
    scenarios for the system.


CO2 Media, Frederick, Maryland, 1996 - 1998                 
Technical Director
Responsible for all the technical operations of an Interaction Design firm
developing Internet applications, web sites, and consumer electronics.
Developed the standards and practices for system requirements, implementation,
production and testing of Internet and software based products and
infrastructure systems.

  - Key contributor in the design and implementation of a user interface for a
    Philips consumer electronics product.

  - Designed and implemented several Internet based applications and web sites
    for such companies as Discovery Channel, Chicago White Sox, MSN, and
    Wayfarer (now SAP).

  - Set-up, operated and managed all physical infrastructure, including
    computers, servers and networking equipment.


TELE-TV, Reston, Virginia, 1993 - 1996                  
Software Engineer
Core team member designing and implementing the set-top-box software for the
Stargazer Interactive TV project.  Programming team member developing the client
software applications for the Stargazer project.

  - Implemented client software with Oracle Media Objects running on an OS/9
    set-top-box.

  - Key contributor in the prototype, design and implementation of user
    interfaces for Stargazer.

  - Lead 3D Animator developing commercials, interstitials and promotional
    segments for the Stargazer product.

  - Administered several SGI servers and networking hardware for the  Digital
    Production Studio


Naval Research Laboratory, Washington, DC, 1992 - 1993  
Consultant
Member of a data visualization team exploring the behavior and effects of the
upper atmosphere on weather, communications and missile detection systems.
Involved in the implementation of satellite data analysis and visualization
software.

  - Produced visual displays of scientific data for research scientists.

  - Helped developed graphical user interfaces for the analysis of space based
    remote sensing data.
